It looks like they made some changes.  I do not recall the finishing hole as being very strong but do the changes improve the hole?

When I was there in December 2014, they were just about to start the work.  Supposedly it was just a returfing job in an effort to firm up the greens.  Still made me a bit nervous though to hear, as any time you open up greens to soil/sand, it is easy to lose things, especially things like the sharp falloffs and subtle rolls that make the greens at Ballybunion.  Hopefully it turned out well.  There are definitely some talented shapers and finishers among the Irish and UK contractors, so there is a chance everything appears just the same.

I reached out to a buddy who is an International Member there to find out details.   His brief description was:  "My understanding was that they lowered the lip of the bunker and reshaped it.  Easier to carry.  Also the right of the green has been reshaped too.  The idea was to see it from the clubhouse...."     I'll be back there in September, I'm curious to see the work myself.
