Never seen it happen before, and given they're recessed a bit below the edge of the tee, maybe they thought that was fine, or maybe they didn't realise the tee was there and playing directly over them.
As Sydney gets even busier and the main beaches get more packed, we will probably see more people making use of Cape Banks for recreation. Just something to be managed, I guess.
The busyness of the coastal walking path has already led the local council to direct the club to move the 6th green further from the path, which is fine by the golfers because it will put the green even closer to the ocean and give the new architect - name to be announced in the next month or two, we're told - a good chance to build something straight away that will show just what might be achieved elsewhere on the course where room for improvement exists.
