Does the USGA actually lose money on the Women's Open?

If not, I'm surprised to see them make it part of a package deal, when there are so many clubs that would want to curry favor for other USGA events.  [As in, see all of the next four sites for the U.S. Women's Open.]

So i was surprised that Pebble Beach would get the 2027 US Open. I thought they would get 2029 or 2030 based on the every ten years trend. They have 2019 for the 100th anniversary of Pebble Beach.

So where will they go for 2028? It would be midwest or east coast. So I will go with Winged Foot again based on the rota they have. If I had to pick a dark horse, then Southern Hills or Trinity Forest or Erin Hills.

A boon for GCAs
10 more renovation jobs no doubt.
Plus the post event restoration/followed by rerenovation/restoration for those on there twice.

The USGA should've put Moe Norman on course setup
play "wedge-driver" instead of the driver -wedge they play now.
At least the blue coat would be an improvement and he and Diane could converse in similar tongues.....

Seriously speaking though , that's an awesome lineup of courses.
I do wonder how they fit on those courses though in 10 years

Torrey 2021 took me off guard!!! Pebble makes more sense given how the others have shaken out since, but still surprising.

Wow, nothing but East Coast West Coast for the foreseeable future. Thank God the PGA of America is familiar with the middle part of the U.S. Looking forward to the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive next year.

Sorry, Torrey, but that is an obvious sore thumb sticking out among an otherwise really strong list of heavy hitters.

Interesting that the Women's Open now seems to be a May/early June thing. As long as I can remember it's been in July (or maybe very late June).

I agree.  They should use that slot as the wildcard slot instead and test out some other courses.

Agreed - outside of Torrey that list is about as good as it gets for the U.S. Open.
