Nice post Adam.
A quick look shows a difference in the plans between 'Bunker' and 'Sand trap'. And "High Grass' is specified as well.
The use of the diagonal stream on many of the holes is interesting.

Good find!  I have never seen these before.


The course depicted is much different than today's course because much of it occupied different land.  The original routing used a bit of the present course, and a bit of the club's short course, but the other half of the holes ran toward the lake and then back, through what is now a residential neighborhood in Grosse Pointe Farms.  The re-routing was done by Hugh Alison who kept his office in Detroit in the mid-20's while working on all of the "Colt and Alison" designs in the upper midwest.
