Colwood Golf Center, on Columbia Blvd south of the airport. Ideal if you want to get the kinks out after a flight before you start he drive to your destination. IMO, among the top two 9-hole par 3 courses in Oregon (Caldera at Sunriver is the other).
A John Zoller design, large contoured. irregular shaped greens keep up the interest. But they need some TLC on the top of some humps, either they don't retain moisture or too large a mower. Usually 30+ yards deep. they stimp in the 9-10 range and putt true, but bring your ball-mark repair tool. From the blue tees the holes range from 100-150 except for an uphill 200 yarder. Two 3' tall flags on each green, the white are open/simple, blues usually further back and may be tucked. Some bunkers. Conditions between tee and green are nothing about which to write home.
Built on part of the old Colwood GC (1,9,10,11,12). A municipal course managed by Kemper. Brought back fleeting memories of some elements of Sweetens Cove. Restaurant still good.
