Looking for a game this Saturday (Chicago area)
« on: August 22, 2017, 02:43:49 PM »
Hey guys,

I just graduated college from Notre Dame and moved to Chicago. None of my friends here really play golf at all, let alone understand architecture. So, needless to say its been a little bit of a challenge getting a game.

I'd love to play this Saturday, August 26 with some fellow golf architecture guys. Hopefully, we can get something set up.

And just so this is clear and I am concerned about the potential perception of post; this is not an access ploy at all. I would just love to meet other golf people.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt- Get ahold of Jason Way (send him an IM here) and get involved at Canal Shores -- great way to meet some like minded people and get involved in a great Chicago Project IMO.

Matt:

Your dad is a great guy.  If you are ever in northeast Ohio, please reach out to me.  I would love to hook you up on some of our great courses in the area.

Anyone in the Chicago area:

If the apple didn't fall far from the tree, I would highly recommend reaching out to Matt and setting up a game.

Matt,

I might have some time depending on dad duty to tee it this weekend. Drop me an email at jwizay1493@hotmail.com.

And Buck is right - if you want to get connected to our merry band of golf geeks, I am happy to loop you in.  Do you know how to run a chainsaw?

Matt,
Welcome to Chicago! I'm out of town this weekend, otherwise I'd invite you out for a round. I get out most every weekend somewhere in the area, I'll keep you in mind for the rest of the season.

I just graduated college from Notre Dame

Matt,

I went to Boston College, have a son at the Naval Academy, and have no interest in flat courses. Jump on a plane, and I will hook you up :)

Sorry, I just could not resist, and I really would like to play the ND course...

Matt- I'd be happy to host you at Beverly on Saturday . If you've not been it's a pretty solid golf course - Ross design that just went thru a major tree removal . Good chance for you to meet some fun guys as well. Let me know if this works for you ?

I have a group at Beverly at 10 so you and Crisham should hook up around the same time and we'll make a day of it.

I was going to say that I'm free in the AM, but you should definitely go to Beverly if these fine gents are offering.

If you guys stick around the Card Room for a few pops after your round, I will come try to find everyone to say hi.  I am playing with a big group of husbands/wives in a nine hole alternate shot game that tees off at 4:00.  Perhaps most importantly, I am also a Domer living in Chicago (Sorin College, Class of 1999), with a Domer wife as well (Class of 2001).

I hope you all have fun and play well.  If you are looking to play more than 18, don't get stuck behind our group on the front side as this will be a giggles and drinks round for everyone.

Tim,  We are teeing off at 1PM so we should finish just ahead of you - will look for you on the patio. Also- sounds like we have a game on the 9th of Sept with America's Most Beloved Guest?
