I was there Saturday - is coming along nicely. The area was in a slight bowl to begin with but looks like they've pushed a lot of dirt around to make some cool undulations, and the greens have move roll than anything on #2. The bunkers looked nice and a mix of old & new.
I'm guessing five years from now ~50% of area courses will have the retro- scruffy look. I played Pine Needles Friday and the work is still going on - was fun to watch on #13. But I didn't see or feel much change to the overall strategy, or as importantly, charm - I still like Mid-Pines better by a wide margin.
