My wife is a better woman than I deserve. Two weeks ago, she started asking me what my favorite golf holes were. It was confusing, given that
she hates golf. I mean, she's glad that I play and get the hell out of the house once in a while. And she's quite a fan of
one club in her hometown. But it was pretty odd for her to spark a conversation with me about golf, and even weirder when she started looking up pictures of every hole I mentioned.
I told her I loved holes like 5 at Crystal Downs, 13 at The Prairie Club - Dunes, and 8 at Prairie Dunes, but she still wanted more. So then I named a few holes I hadn't played, like 13 at Augusta and 16 at Cypress Point, but she still wasn't satisfied. I mentioned a few other holes, and she told me she had what she needed.
Two days later, I flew to Boston to win a bunch of money in the Blue Hill Member-Guest. I flew home the evening before my birthday, and found this on the kitchen island (the bag, pin, and ball are not to scale):
Name the hole!
