as it is not by the ocean or within a close to coast dune system the answer is obviously no it is not a links. What you are talking about is a course that plays fast and firm which is great and should be praised. Don't down grade it by trying to make it something it is not but rather push its good points.

I think that is a fair point.  I am not so much focused on what label is appropriate but whether in fact, the course can be considered to play in the same manner as a links course or not.  It strikes me that it does, with the only difference of any consequences is that the greens are a bit softer than what you generally see on a links course.
