Geez, both sides seem to have plenty of buffer room.  I wonder what house is actually getting hit??

Its been a while since I played out there, but that is certainly one of my least worry holes when it comes to houses in play..

Why does poor architecture get associated with the problem, when in most cases the problem is more likely to be greedy developers? In all fairness, it could also be a semi crazy homeowner. A woman came into a club where I was last week screaming bloody murder, she wanted justice! She and her two daughters were sun-bathing in the border of a lake on the golf course and she swore golfers were deliberlatley aiming at them and thus was threatening to file a report with the pólice for attempted assult with a deadly weapon. There are all kinds out there!

Wait...this hole? Where the property boundary is ~50 yards from the edge of the fairway, behind a forest? WTF?

This quote from the article: "The course says that, considering the trees and the physics of how a golf ball travels, what the couple claims is impossible."
As someone who lives on a golf course I can assure you that the laws of physics can not define how poorly some people strike the ball. This weekend, February in Indiana, I was gifted two dozen balls. It honestly makes no physical sense where these balls end up.
Matt, I believe the house in question is the one top left.

I basically agree with Randy.  Probably not a true design issue and it may have as much to do with it as course maintenance and evolution.

For instance, it appears there may be some mowing issues, as middle tee aims a bit left of center.  It may be possible that new mowing pattern would help a potential alignment problem?

It also appears as if tree growth since opening has potentially made a line further right difficult, as it may be blocked by a tree.

Of course, its hard to tell anything from the aerial view, and I have never been there, so the above is just an educated guess.  Just goes to show a golf course design can subtly change years after you finish it, and in most cases,  you never know it.

Calling Kelly Blake Moran!

I think we all know that Kelly can't comment on a pending lawsuit. That being said this is one of my favorite threads of all time, made that much better by Dr. Childs getting the Shivas treatment. You will have to read between the lines to remind yourself of the not so subtle opinions of GC7.

If it's the house on the left, I blame Cirba hitting a big lefty slice over there..

Can't confirm or deny responsibility but for the record I think Morgan Hill is a terrific design on a very challenging site.  Each of the four par fives are particularly noteworthy.

No doubt, given a challenging site and residential development, it was a good thing to find a golf course on that site.

Simply wow. Rated the course two years ago, the USGA stuff not the free lunch club, and cannot fathom hitting a home on that hole. If it is the one pictured that's damn near impossible.

Some cool holes including the massive drop on the one par three. Did anyone know the ball hits the ground at a speed in excess on 100mph?
We have a pool and a pond, the pond would be good for you.

Ed, pretty sure Matt posted picture of correct hole but incorrect house.
Think it's the one in top of photo, maybe 50yds short of pond.

When first played there, there were very few homes around the course. It was a very fun teack on some very difficult land.  It has been at least six years since I played there. I don't ever even recall noticing that there was a house on the left. While not impossible to hit a high hard hook that might possibly get to the house I would expect it would be quite a rarity.

Case settled:

Morgan Hill will try to install netting to protect the Cedarville Road home of Jerzy Wisniewski, who lives by the 13th hole. If that cannot be done, the course will permanently move the tees past his property, making the hole a par 4 instead of a par 5.
