Battle Creek CC - #15 would be great if they removed or trimmed the tree on the right

Hmmm, it might take me some time to name a similar hole.

I've always liked it and hope Andrew Green's plan removes a few trees up on the left, as the ideal area for playing the 3rd is claustrophobic.

Kyle,

Thanks for the quick response, High speed.  I've been waiting on the Philly boys for months.

Kyle,

No Schuylkill??

I bloody well forgot. I'd put the current #16 at Schuylkill on the list, not sure as to what else had been modified by Ross as he did move a green and added/removed quite a few bunkers. Perhaps #6 and 7 would qualify.

Ben:

The original 2nd at Weston (Toronto) has to be unique.  Downhill tee shot and then a second over, under, or through the railroad viaduct to a green set in a crook of the river.  Today they figure their two green solution short of the viaduct suffices.  NOT!

The viaduct still exists as does the original green site.  It's now a tee for the third.

Ian Andrew might have some inside knowledge of the change.

Tony,

This is for US courses only.  I told you last night that the 2nd at Weston deserves it's own thread and hope you start it

How about a par three, par four and par five from the same golf course...Berkshire Country Club in Reading, PA.

#4-Par five with an incredible greensite.

#6-Par three over a ravine to another terrific greensite.

#8-Short par four (Alps) with a Principal's Nose bunker complex.

Where are my Philly guys on this?

Bill, I would nominate probably half of the holes at Berkshire.

Berkshire is in my top 10 to do list.  The Gold Standards photo tour nearly had me leave the next day for it.

Pine Lake CC - 0

Sorry to go OT but I've played Pine Lake a number of times and it is bland. Does anyone know what it was like originally? 18 is the best hole on the course IMO.

Some of my favorite Willie Park Jr. holes are:

Shuttle Meadow Country Club-Holes 4, 6 and 18

Woodway Country Club-Holes 6, 14 and 16

New Haven Country Club-Holes 9, 11 and 16.

If you consider Shorehaven Golf Club as a Willie Park design, I would also include holes 6, 15, 16 and 17.

I'll give you three in a row 14-16 at Olympia Fields. 14 is a brawny 460 yard two shotter with a meandering creek in play. 15 is a par 5 rides the top of the ridge, sharply bending to the right to a tough to read green. 16 is around 200 yards straight downhill over the creek to a well protected putting surface. In terms of ably using the natural landforms this might be the best three hole three different par holes stretch in Chicagoland.

Why no love for the 10th at Maidstone?
