As one who was hono(u)red to attend the ceremony and the dinner, I can confirm that it surpassed any of the Tattoos I have attended.

The picture of Ran and Fritz was taken before Golf's Most Beloved snuck into the registrar's office near St. Giles to make the nuptials legal, and the Bride thereafter strolled alone up the hill drawing enormous crowds, from all around the world, taking photographs of themselves with her Ladyship, and her walking up those cobbled streets in killer stilettos was a tour de force.

After a fine meal and an endless flow of champagne we had to prop Rich up for the photo.

Well done.  What a grand photo.

Maybe someday I will post a photo of the firey tempered Mrs.  McCarthy and I at Richard's at Grand and Milwaukee after our vows.
The only way of really finding out a man's true character is to play golf with him. In no other walk of life does the cloven hoof so quickly display itself.

Bollocks!  Ceremony pure hogwash and unofficial!

It wasn't done in full kilts.  Marriage null and void until then!

Agree about the kilts comment. If Ran had asked I'd have given him a loan of mine, but then he is a good bit taller than me. He'd probably have ended up looking more like Shirley Temple and less like Rob Roy MacGregor.

Don't give me that Sassenach propaganda nonsense about Scott inventing the kilt, tartan and shortbread. I can assure you the Carlton clan have always worn the kilt.

Since Carlton is a Welsh name I think you're on thin ice here, Niall bach.

Why is it you, Martin and I are the only one's realizing this?!?!?  I thought this was a pure Golf site?!?!?!

I think the three of us can agree the marriage vows are null and void until he returns in full dress and does the nuptials again!  (Fritz looks correct.  Golf's Most Beloved? NO!)

I'm glad someone is standing firm for hard-edged Truth, and not being blinded like the rest of us by warm sentimentality. Dressed like that, Ran might as well have gotten married in the clubhouse at Doral!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Despite only photographing three courses on an 11 day trip in the U.K., I suppose the trip had other redeeming qualities!

And yet, all you married men can relate to the difficulties that ensue. For instance, a scant thirty minutes after our vows, here is Mrs. Morrissett cavorting with two strangers as we walked up the Royal Mile:

And then, as if that indignity wasn't enough, another hundred yards on had her abandoning me for what she deemed 'a better dressed man.'

The only good news? She doesn't play golf!

Nice to see Fritz turning heads in Edinburgh. She certainly turned a few at Reddish Vale!

Al the best to both of you!
