« on: August 05, 2016, 10:31:56 PM »
What: Thaw Out V

When: January 27-29, 2017

Where: Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Island, SC

Cost: Three rounds and 2 nights in Deluxe Harbour Town Villas -- Four bedroom villa (4 sharing): $559 pp

Deposit:  $200 per person due to Sea Pines Resort by September 16. The balance to be paid at check in.

For credit card payments, please call Anne Graves of the Sea Pines Resort Reservation Department at 843-842-1874.

Let me know who you want to share a condo with and I will turn in the rooming list to the resort.

Thanks!

Courses: Harbour Town Golf Links, Heron Point, Atlantic Dunes

Sea Pines is opening their new Davis Love III course, Atlantic Dunes, in October. It is a complete reconstruction of the original Ocean Course. A long weekend playing this course, plus Harbour Town and Heron Point is the plan. A Sunday game at Old Tabby Links is the icing on the cake! Note: There will be an additional fee for Sunday's golf.

Sounds like a great idea. I would nominate Mark Pritchett for any toastmaster/emcee duties. The Haig Point trip a few years ago was beyond exciting. Between the collective sigh of the participants in connection with Jamey Bryan's late arrival to the ferry(not to mention his celebrated breakfast of a Bloody Mary and a Butterfinger) and Mark's dissertation(aided by a few generous cocktails) on the boat ride home it was quite a day. The look on Brandon Johnson's face of Arnold Palmer Golf Design and the ensuing laughter of all those in earshot was priceless. Personally I am not a huge fan of the Haig Point golf course but it's a great day with dinner included out on the island.

Eric-I am going to hold you to the statement that the golf at Harbortown will be reasonably priced. ;) ;D

People this man is a maniac!!!!! At the True Blue/Caladonia Thaw Out he slid out of the condo before the sun came up to play the 1st of his three different courses for the day.

I will already be at Cherokee Plantation, so this is going to work out perfectly.

Could you see if Donald Steel would be willing to come to the Crazy Crab and lead a discussion on the relevance of the sleepers at Rye?

And ask him why every new bunker on the Jubilee Course at Rye is a perfect circle, all identical?   Must have used a template.

I'll be taking the horse and buggy from Cherokee Plantation to HHI, so I might be a little late, but I promise you Eric, you won't be disappointed.

The pics are from Thaw Out 2012.
The ferry to Haig, dinner at Haig, the previously mentioned ferry back.
Drinks at Eric's Aunts.
Whitty at Wexford.

I'll be there. My birthday is 2 days from the dates of Thaw out 2017.
