BUDA Cup 2016 - Saturday night dinner in Carne Clubhouse
« on: July 25, 2016, 04:40:45 AM »
We have booked the clubhouse restaurant for us to have our main group dinner on the Saturday evening.

The cost shall be €25 per head for three courses, plus coffee. Wine and drinks are on top. Please come equipped to pay.

I have put us down for a minimum of 24, based upon anticipated numbers. If, for any reason, you know you shall not be there, please let me know.

Anticipate sitting down for dinner by 8pm.

Dress code is casual, so no need for jacket and tie, but probably best not to sit down in what you've played golf in during the day.

I'm looking at laying on a minibus if there is sufficient interest. Driving back to the hotel is not advisable!

Main BUDA thread found here.

Thanks for arranging this. I like the idea of a minibus!

Oh boy... most definitely an excellent idea for a minibus for us "wrong siders" after a few toasts.

Are we able to use a change room/locker room for fresh clothes after golf, and hopefully not because we are rain soaked?   ;D

Yes, changing room and showers downstairs.

We should be finished in good time for dinner, as we are only planning on playing 9 'official' holes in the afternoon. However, if it is a lovely day I wouldn't blame anyone for sneaking in another nine.

If you're in good shape. Trying to play 36 in a day round Carne would kill me, fat old slob that I am...

I cannot attend, but I am very jealous and I thought this should be posted :)

Rather than everyone telling me they are in I shall assume that you shall attend unless you tell me otherwise.

The restaurant is booked.

Robin,

Perhaps you might alter the title and initial posts as I have booked the other two nights also:

Friday 2nd September - The Talbot - 20.30 booked for 24
Sunday 4th September - The Phoenix Chinese - 20.30 booked for 24

Any big changes to those numbers let me know but a few drop outs won't matter as long as we're polite in informing the restaurants.

Booked relatively late so evening golf can be accommodated if required.

It's a bit like airlines over-booking their flights, Ulrich.

Things are pretty relaxed in Belmullet.

Anyone planning on being in Mulranny on the Thurs afternoon or staying there that evening? If so, and you fancy some golf or getting together for a meal/drink, let me know as adult son and I will be there then.

I am booked into Talbot a night early, Thurs night.  I have not made a reservation for Wed night 31, leaving it open in case of need to decompress a bit from travel arrival Tues, morning and driving out to west coast area.  I'd probably be more interested in dinner than golf, saving my energy for the meat of the Buda activity and the advisories about how strenuous the Carne walk may be...  ;)

IM me.

I'm playing at Mulranny, possibly with my wife, on Thursday afternoon. But we are making our way to the Talbot Hotel in the evening.

Robin said that Ally and he are going to be there and put early arrivers out on the course.

Unfortunately I will only be arriving late Friday evening and staying until Sunday afternoon so will be going straight to Belmullet. I'm sure Robin will manage.

I am spending a week in Mulranny soon so will make sure the course are fully aware that people may turn up in dribs and drabs.

Sorry, I mistyped. I am playing at Mulranny on Friday afternoon, not Thursday. There is a chance that I may play Connemara on Thursday.

I played 18 and 27 at Connamera and loved it.  You can't go wrong there.
