This topic is susceptible to overthinking.

It's simple.  Just go.  Anytime, anyhow.

"PS. some of the best weather is in winter and rates do go down starting in November...January and February 2017 are already sold out...Thanksgiving and Christmas can be awesome and the resort is a ghost town around family holidays"

Niall & Thomas -
It sounds like Thanksgiving week in the U.S. would be a good time to visit Bandon. The weather in late November in Bandon is not likely to be any worse than you might find in GB&I at that time of year, plus green fees are much lower than in the high season. Thanksgiving in the U.S. is always the 4th Thursday of November.
One drawback in late November is that the daylight hours are starting to shrink, but Bandon is not as far north as GB&I.
My sense is staying on resort is the way to go.
DT
Years ago our group went to Bandon the weekend before Thanksgiving. Many in the group played 36, barely, if they had the first couple of tee times.
We experienced bright sun, calm, gale, showers, downpours, hail and snow, so it is a complete crapshoot about the weather.
Go, laddie, go. Don't dither yourself to death.
Just fleshing out the thought.

A good tip is to bring a big plastic zip loc bag to put your valuables in while you play during the inevitable shower.

or a Bandon Dunes shopping bag if you forget the ziplocs

so many things to consider...why even go to Bandon  ::) ::)

flying into EUG is what I would do and drive a rental from there

WG,
You forgot to push Fiddlers Green, the large independent golf store, just a couple of minutes from the Eugene airport.
