For those of you contemplating further additions to your golf/GCA library, I recently learned that two of my favorite people and GCA writers, Paul Daley and Darius Oliver – both of Melbourne Australia – will be publishing new books this autumn.
Paul will first be releasing a comprehensive pictorial volume detailing the life and golf of Ben Hogan; this will be soon followed by the publication of the latest volume of his Golf Architecture: A Worldwide Perspective series. Darius, meanwhile, will be releasing Planet Golf Modern Masterpieces. Paul’s book will feature many never-before-seen images sure to please fans of the “Wee Ice Man’. Darius’s book – which features a forward by Mike Keiser – profiles the world’s 100 greatest courses introduced since 1995, the year of Sand Hills’ opening which heralded the new ‘Golden Era’ of design.

Paul and Darius are far too modest to call attention to their efforts, but – given that their work appeals to a great many on this board – I thought I would highlight their pending publications and contributions to our collective avocation. I only regret is that Darius chose 1995 as the (understandable) ‘cutoff’ date for consideration as a ‘modern’ course as I would enjoyed seeing a profile of my home course, the Dunes Club (1991) in New Buffalo, MI.
