After Monday's matches the North leads 3 to 2, two individual wins as one player no showed, one best ball win for the South and two pushes. 8 points are up for grabs on Tuesday.

OK here are the final results for KP 2017: the first 3 matches were 3 North 3 South so it all came down to to the last match, Mankiller Tom Yost had to play two matches in his threshold do to our unfortunate no show. But undaunted he took both Northeners down thanks to a timely tip from his caddy to stand just a little closer to the ball; a Crenshaw, Jackson moment? This allowed the South to prevail 6 to 5. We also had a hole in one as Lyndell Young aced the Eden hole at Old Mac; feel free to hit him up for a free beverage at our next event.

Nobody hosts an event like Gray Gieve, from the party at his beach house to hosted dinners each night he made it easy to just show up and party. We can't really thank him enough for all he did to make this Event a huge success.

Does this mean the South hosts next years KP? Would like it go South like SD, LA, Palm Springs or AZ for the warm weather.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

The KP has been in Oregon or Canada for several years except one in Central California due to lack of interest or energy.

Now would be the time for Southern Californians to step up

Back home after spending a couple of post-KP days on the Oregon coast.  Wow, were we fortunate with fantastic weather!   The storm that moved in Thursday was particularly fierce, the town of Bandon completely without power early Friday morning when I departed for PDX.

A huge THANK YOU to Gray for setting this up!  My first visit to Bandon Dunes made even better by the company of like-minded beard pullers.  A hat tip to my partners, opponents and fellow competitors for the helpful camaraderie and good humor.

Congrats to Lyndell on the ace.  I, unfortunately, witnessed only the cheers as I was busy hacking around behind the green following a skulled chip shot.

Will post some pics as soon as I get a chance to sort them all out.

Thanks to Gray for putting on a great event! We actually had the only clear days for probably a month to see Bandon in all its glory. What a fantastic place it truly is, I'm envious of you Oregon guys. Thanks to all who participated and made my Father-Son trip a memory for a lifetime. Also a shout out to my competitors and new friends for being so fun to be around. ATB

A great event, and we really enjoyed meeting (or re-meeting) all of you. A memorable first King's Putter for me. Sorry we had to bolt for Portland and missed the grand finale Tuesday night and Sheep Ranch Wednesday. And THANKS to Gray for all you did!

thanks Doug, good to see you again, and it was superfun to meet your friend Peter   8) 8) 8)

the only downside of this event was the late cancellation of Joel Zuckerman whose flight was delayed for 4+ hours or so (very unusual for Salt Lake), which caused him to somehow have a conniption and bag the event early in his delay, claiming he was but a guest of the resort (N/C) for some deal he concocted, and thus cause the group to play 15 instead 16 for the Kings Putter. And I thought he was a friend  :o
It would have been great to see him pull up late that evening to join us for wine/beer/pizza, but alas not.
Needless to say, that type of behavior is not rewarded with a refund of one's deposit despite incessant messages, phone calls, emails....
Good day sir!
You'll get nothing and like it!

10 days later you think an adult male would grow a pair...to be treated so poorly by a GCAer is ridiculous

So now me and Zuckerman have at least two things in common. Major winners and chewed out by W.G. I'm spiraling into a depression thinking of what may be the third.

Hi Gray,
Thanks for all you did to make the KP a fun event!

I see no reason that Bandon should not be the permanent venue, as you and I agreed, it is the best multi-course pure golf facility in the world.

Thanks also to Pete for his doing the pairings and his general enthusiasm.

Connecting with fellow GCAers was great.

Be sure to hold back some CS for the next one.

Cheers,
John

OK, takes me a while...   Sharing a few photos.  Once I got home and started to sort and edit, I realized I had taken mostly golf porn type photos, not too many with the human element and not a single photo of myself and caddie.  I shall need to return...
