he said he left work Wed night in the one inch dusting-his 20 minute commute took him EIGHT HOURS to get home. Got home at 3 am. was due back at 7!

Living out west in a snow state....I must admit its a tad bit funny to hear about weather/storm stories like this.

We got two feet of snow in 24 hours a couple of years back and it was barely a story on the local news, much less national news.

Snow is always more dramatic when it falls on the Eastern Seaboard. OMG I hope the ratings are good on tv over the weekend. This will be hyped like Will and Kate's next outfit change.

That reminds me of Dave Schmidt's "Team Coverage" rant from a few years ago every time a storm rolls thru in Chicago.  I just hope all those poor east coastians can deal with 12 inches of snow on the ground...at once!!

For once we got the least of a storm out here on the east end of LI. (JFK got 30 + inches)
Woke up to bright blue skies and 10-12 inches.
Absolutely beautiful (never said that last year)
Did a quick truck(driveway), porch and walkway shovel/broom pass last night at 6 pm.
Prediction was for 6+ more inches on top of the 10-12, damaging high tides, and 60 mph winds overnight-never happened here, though the tide was higher than normal.
Steets, walkway, porch and more importantly truck, completely clear.


Hopefully others are digging out OK

Perhaps over reported when anything occurs on the I95 corridor..but I would not suggest it is much ado about nothing when at least 19 died, vehicles stuck on interstates and at one point 250k without power..

Jeff:  Got about 14 inches on the North Fork, driveway clear as well as a small patch of grass in the back yard
for hitting balls into the woods in back yard (gotta grove that swing).  Nothing compared to last year.
