Sam,

Favourite pub; The Just Reproach runner up The Prince Albert

Favourite accommodation; Number One B&B!

As a member of Royal Cinque Ports I'd play it 10:1 over the neighbours. Sandwich is great but you cannot have fun there.

I wish I knew. ;) Well be staying in Deal (or Sandwich) next July for a night but this fine establishment has a 2 night minimum. Think they'd make an exception for an old ex-leper?

Hotchkiss School, Lakeville, Connecticut, the school where Charlie Banks taught for 17 years before being smitten with golf course design.  We're in the very northwest corner of the state, only a few miles from New York and Massachusetts. The school's 9-hole course is an unspoiled Raynor/Banks with some spectacular views of the southern Berkshires.

The outskirts of Metro Yadkinville, NC. Two hours from my drive to the front door at Pine Needles/MidPines.

Hello Tom,
You must be fairly close to Silo Run. I play there in the winter sometimes.
I was born in SW Michigan, raised in Virginia and currently live in Clemmons, NC
1-1/2 hrs from the mountains, less than 5 hrs from Myrtle Beach, and only 12 hrs from St. Andrews!

Bob- played there today. Certainly not GCA discussion worthy but it was $22! Greens good too. Last four holes a real challenge from the back tees. Bogeys on three of the four due to some sad putting.

Currently reside in Tianjin, China. Before that I lived in Temple TX and went to college and grad school at Baylor in Waco. Grew up in Gaithersburg MD outside Washington DC. Now a days when I'm stateside my family and I split time between Atlantic Beach NC and Yorktown VA. That's where we'll spend most of our summer home this year.

Originally from Indianapolis, I now live in a veritable golf desert: a small rural town in west-central Indiana called Cayuga (about 30 minutes southwest of Harrison Hills, just to provide some context).

Not too bad though...driving distance to the Lafayette courses. There are worse places. I grew up in SE Indiana, half way between Indy and Cincinnati. We did have a great (very liberal use of the term) private club in town, but good public options were very lacking until you reached the Indy or Cincy areas.
