I've never been inside the clubhouse, but I have to think the view from the clubhouse at TOC is one of the best around. After all it only looks out over the greatest golf course in the world.

Now if you're talking view as in just pure natural beauty rather than golf then sure something like PB or somewhere in Hawaii outdoes it.

In the US, for an overall view and clubhouse designed to maximize, The Bridge, followed by Sebonack and NGLA

Many in the UK are hard by the sea, but I must say Greencastle is about as enticing a view as any-though Cruit is pretty darned impressive
also Ardglass and Portsalon

TOC webcam - http://www.standrews.com/links-webcam - several different camera positions.

Rather dark at the moment!! Should be okay in Uk daylight though, weather permitting.

At very different ends of the golfing spectrum two that stand out for me are CPC and Crail.
In July I will be riding two stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity, including Mont Ventoux for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

+1 on Shinny err...and all those that Jon posted below as well as Lost Farm.

I seem to remember being impressed by Cruden Bay as well but it's a long time ago. Seem to remember being able to see nearly the entire course.

Having a bite and a drink at Crail and looking down on the course and out to the ocean is pretty awesome.

I'd second this -- sitting with a newly found friend and the club pro while having an ale at Crail was a real highlight of my trip over there.

Cruden Bay is good, although that clubhouse somehow seems at odds with the course, for my tastes.

I'm not sure if you can see all this from the clubhouse, but walking out on the front lawn might do the trick, at the Himalayan Golf Course in Nepal:

Moray GC with the clubhouse perched up looking over both courses, the sea and the far away Covesea lighthouse. As an added attraction you often get Tornado jets flying low over the course. Hard to beat.

Niall,

I remember a strong wind the day I played Moray with you and at one point standing outside the clubhouse I would have believed you if you had told me that Tornado was about to take off from the first tee such was the noise!

I agree that St Enodoc is one of my favourite combinations of view, setting and course.

I am clearly biased, but I also love the outlook from the clubhouse at Notts. Sitting at the low point of a bowl, with open heathland all the way to the pines in the distance, you can see the 1st hole, 2nd green in the distance, all of 3, 18 and 4, with glimpses of 17 and 5. It still doesnt get old after all these views...

Cheers,

James

I like watching play while sitting/eating/drinking, so True Blue and Caledonia get high marks from me due to the perfect ovews of each course's 18th. Secession and the CC of Farmington get even higher marks from me because you can see players playing both 18 and 1 from your lunch table and/or the porch.

Minnekahda is one of my favorites - a "ha ha" look at Lake Calhoun with all the traffic hidden, downtown Minneapolis in the background and a pool nearby.  No golf in sight.
