A Bad News / Good News weather report:

We have had an uncommon amount of rain this September. It is drizzling again today, with more rain in the forecast for tonight and Wednesday and Thursday. That wondrous autumnal firm-and-fast we experience many (most?) years here in the Northland will not be achievable, I suspect, for the Midwest Mashie.

But now the Good News: The forecast for this weekend is EXCELLENT.

From Wunderground.com:

Friday 10 % Precip. / 0 inMostly sunny skies. High 76F. Winds ESE at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday Night 0 % Precip. / 0 inClear skies. Low 57F. Winds light and variable.

Saturday09/2677 | 60 °F
Saturday 0 % Precip. / 0 inSunny, along with a few afternoon clouds. High 77F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday Night 0 % Precip. / 0 inClear skies. Low around 60F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday09/2779 | 60 °F
Sunday 10 % Precip. / 0 inSunny. High 79F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Yes, the weather is shaping up to be great this weekend.

It's been a wet summer and I know T&C got over 2.5" of rain mid-last week. I was out there last night running the dog and it wasn't too bad...not rock-hard firm and fast but the course was firming up nicely. Thankfully T&C's property tilts hard toward the Mississippi and drains pretty well. Hopefully the hard rain forecasted for tomorrow manages to miss us.

Just a reminder to be on the lookout tonight for Ken and I's live posting of the Saturday pairings!

I'll be on the road to Chicago with precious cargo, but maybe we can stop to eat while I follow the live pairing announcement on my phone. Departure in less than two hours! #EastRepeat #Mashie2015

Doesn't the law require mashie's to ride in the backseat?

Have a great weekend y'all. I certainly would like to be joining you, but we are taking to kids to Florida for a relaxing ( ;) ) trip to Disney World and Universal. While I am a sweaty mess and mired in an hour-plus line, I assure you, my heart will be at Windsong...

You are correct --I have always been bad with alliterated names!

Buck, I like how you included yourself when it was really Pittock that beat us.   ;D
While I obviously don't remember the names of the competitors nor most of the round I do clearly recall that we somehow conceded a 12 ft putt on 17 that left us only 1 up going into 18 where the Jasons got a severe case of lockjaw on my 3 foot par putt to close it out --I know I contributed at least a half on that hole.

BTW I am still looking for an explanation on Finn's WD -- did he find out Hoover lives here now?

Please excuse the interruption, but for the 1:10 match my money is on the beard-pullers, Thurman and Choi. Show that notorious anti-beard puller Rick S that error of his ways!!

Wow, that was a thrilling draw.  I look forward to seeing who Chamblee and Begay think are the favorites on golf channel tomorrow.  Surely this carries as much prestige as the other team events.

Thanks again for everyone setting this up, I'm looking forward to a great weekend of golf.

That "course tour" is, I am very happy to report, WAY out of date. I am going to go out there, sometime this fall, with a good camera and offer the club my photos.

Many, many of the trees you see there are no more (or shortly will be).

Just for example (one of many possible examples): All of the trees between the fourth green and the seventh tee are gone. And their absence is a beautiful thing to behold.

The aerial tour is somewhat closer to what's there now -- but, again, many ashes, pines and spruces are no more.
