Greys Green - Greenkeeper/Construction Crew Wanted.
« on: December 10, 2014, 08:14:17 AM »
I don't know if this is the right protocol but we have a project and are looking for persons interested in a couple of years work building/maintaining Greys Green is a 36 hole golf course a few miles from Huntercombe which we are totally rebuilding. Ben Stephens and myself have completed the initial design work and we made a start at the back end of last year. We have high hopes for this course which is on a sandy gravel loam. We intend to construct 9 holes each year, keeping the very basic course open to the golfers, but by 2016 we should have 9 holes perhaps more open.

Could be a great opportunity for someone to learn how to drive blades, excavators and get involved in design, construction, so I thought I would ask here first.
A combination of whats good for golf and good for turf.

Hi Adrian, this project sounds very interesting. Im from Oxford and have been playing my golf at Frilford since the early 90's. I also spent two and a half years at the Oxfordshire Golf Club as a greenkeeper followed by a year at Southfield , now oxford golf club. This was several years ago. Although not really looking to get back into greenkeeping i would be very interested in developments at Greys Green.
Many thanks Paul.
