Adrian,

I actually wrote "would lead one to think." That's very different to "he said x, y or z."

But we digress. Incidentally, nice topography in the promotional pic. No sarcasm intended.

Paul - You have a habit of reading what you want to read. I never said you had hailed it as a great course or in a world top 10 or anything like that. You make things up. This course is simply in my opinion not a good one, perhaps I should have just said its a Doak 1 IMO. If people like it then fine, it is good we don't all like the same things, I am not offended if people like this course, if people prefer it to my work then I think they are nuts, but I would probably still go an have a beer with them/you.

So its better than the Castle Course then ;D I can appreciate you not liking it from a personal taste angle but the way you chose to articulate it (if you can call it articulate) was pretty tasteless. I would not call any of your designs nice as nice is a word you use when you have no opinion on something and don't know what else to say. I consider all of your stuff that I have seen so far as better than just nice. I certainly like the look of the hole in the photo above tough what is the lone round bush all about, distance maker?

I would give the Castle Course a 5, so I don't have it better. As I remember a Doak zero is a ranking usually higher than a 1, merely reserved for a course that spent too much and messed it up.

The lone tree is a hawthorn that was there from the start, so we worked around it and kept it. It's 320 off the tee uphill so does not trouble the tee shot. Everything you see bar the trees is man made as it was a totally flat almost featureless field.

The English Language is obviously very different regional, something that is nice down our way means good. It would not have any relevance to not having an opinion. Poor would be classified as shite, minging, crap. Middle of the road would be more its okay. If someone wanted to expand their reasoning why it is one of those they would.

In our area most people would have Painswick as shite, minging or crap. It's all about opinion I first played it in a junior open 41 years ago and loved it first time but I can see how many form the opinions they do.
