A calendar is a great idea, these pics take so long to load on my dial up connection.

Upgrade to the 14.4k baud rate modem JaKa.  I did so with my new Duo 230 and all is good.

Sorry, somehow a post from 1995 found it's way back. Remember when people would complain about picture size?  Yea, about the same time people quit using calendars.

That is priceless. I didn't realise the internet was that sophisticated in 1995 to actually have golf discussion boards!

We're just too young to remember.   ;D

We've been doing this a long time. I don't recall the exact year I became obsessed with the internet but find it no small coincidence that my last child was born in 1995.  http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_message_boards

He doesn't post on the discussion group anymore so I'll nominate Ran Morrissett for the photo at Los Angeles CC.

Am I the only one that would prefer Wikipedia move to advertising banners as opposed to the annoying pop up messages begging for money?

We'll call this my official entry. Try to name the course or even the location.
Those who know it (and you know who you are), kindly hold back.
Ultimately, the answer may surprise you.

More photos from the year to follow.

I took this two days ago at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona.
The course is a mixture of agony and or ecstasy.
This crater-scape could be either.

And this could be agony or ecstasy, as well, depending on how your feel about 3.5 million dollar water features
on a 33 million dollar desert golf course filled with flowers and artificial streams.

I love golf in the desert. Gotta' be careful when chasing those lost balls, however.
There is Golf in the Kingdom. This is Golf in the Cacti.
Shot this at La Paloma on Tuesday.

This is La Paloma, as well. 1st hole on the
Ridge Course, just before sunset. Was
able to coax some color from the RAW image.

That's a great picture...I think Geoff took most of the photos on that tour, so I wonder if he should get the credit.

Mountain golf is completely different...just as treacherous when you miss a fairway,
but with a completely different feel.

I've been trying to beta good image of the 12th at Coyote Moon for several years.
As you can see here, even a 14mm lens barely captures all of it.

Okay, finally, the 14th at Coyote Moon. This is a short par-4, usually an iron, uphill into a narrow fairway, then left for your 2nd, across the creek, into a picturesque and shallow green.

Got this shot while standing on the bridge. Had the camera on a pole some 20 feet in the air.

Wayne, can you give it an [img=800] tag so that it fits in the window and eliminates the scroll bar?

More alpine flavor...the 17th at Edgewood, Tahoe.
This is one of the only holes on the course that does not play left to right.
Good thing...

This par-3 at Lake Merced has much of what I look for in a golf image...
Clean
Elevated
Clear view of the flag
Contrasting color
And....no people

Most of the time, people date images.

...but not always. This is the 11th at my home course, Richmond Country Club.
It's a parkland course...a tour stop in the 40's and 50's.
A bit dated, just like its members, but we like the place and I like these guys in particular.

It's a moment...one repeated week after week for them.
