+1.     I think I will pass on the golf and go ice fishing instead.:) Windchills are projected to be in the low teens.

Or, why did I move to the only place with a shorter golf season that Chicago!?  ::) :)

Sunny and cold is a common theme in the winter up here. Unfortunately the sun alone can't keep the golf courses open in the winter!!

Village Links of Glen Ellyn has its Iron Man event on Sunday. 10 a.m. shotgun. Two man teams with three different formats over six holes. Only the hardy -- or those with covers and heaters! -- need apply.

What else am I going to do, sit home and watch the Bears?? :P

Mark:  Mike Royko said his favorite wintertime activities included staying inside, getting drunk and writing anonymous threatening letters.  If you rethink the Ironman...

John, do you think the bar will be closed during this event?? Plus there's my flask filled with Journeyman Distillery whiskey in the bag.

I guess I could stay home and write letters to Virginia McCaskey about her team, but I think I'd rather be out there looking for my golf nicotine.

Mark:  I found the old Royko column and it is even funnier than I remembered.   I'll post it the week before Kapalua when everyone is in the dumps.  Send the letter to Mike McCaskey, though.  His eyes are probably better.

A balmy 16 degrees this morning. We would've needed more than a flask. Perhaps an entire distillery.

You didn't. Duluth's season is even shorter.

I just shoveled my driveway after coming home from seeing Birdman (a truly stunning film for anyone who hasn't seen it).  If you still haven't put the sticks away, now would be the time...
