Enjoyed all the replies to the post ! Thanks to all who proffered an opinion .

After looking at some more pictures , replies and giving it some serious thought I still don't like collection areas . However I will stipulate that  I consider false fronts a feature in its own right and don't link the two . Collection bunkers I are cool !

Most collection areas are overdone and aesthetically quite ugly.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it .

the worst thing about collection areas is that the penalty for being in one doesn't usually fit the crime, eg. ball in divot

at one course that is a Doak, they have names for the collection areas, LOL   ::)
