I thought maybe you'd go retro with it and do a Sand Hills v Ballyneal Match Play.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

C'mon Tim, with a little effort, you could have turned this into a Kingsley, Dismal, Ballyneal, Deal battle royal!

Is this the thread where we talk about fire pits?

C'mon, we all know the fire pit burns the brightest at Dismal  ;D

Assuming this site attracts a disproportionate share of golfers who share certain tastes, the popularity of these courses on here suggests they possess certain similarities. A hole by hole would draw out these similarities and by extension identify the traits many on here may intuitively like and admire, of which they (we) are not necessarily aware.

And so such a comparison would be a worthwhile exercise not only as regards the courses but as for revealing what we tend to like.

Additionally I hope those who have participated in comparos that previously involved just one of these GCA.com MFNs would have the courage of their convictions to take this on. To bow out of this might very well confirm the worst suspicions held by those leery of previous efforts.

We are about to find out.

Well I for one will claim that Kinglsey's 18th ends far too close to the 1st tee.

Dismal wins 18 UP

I really like how both courses start, but I feel that severity of the uphill hole coupled with that massive bunker in the middle of the fairway gives a slight edge to Dismal Red 1.  Dismal Red 1 is the ultimate gentle handshake with strategic bunkering.

Red +1

(Pillow Fight part II?  Perhaps).

I'm really hoping to get to northern Michigan this summer and I want to play Belvedere and (if someone will let me) Kingsley. And then I will do a classic-modern match play that will blow your socks off and alienate everyone north of the Mason-Dixon line. Look for it in late July....please, no IMs until then. I insist on playing a course before commenting (Sean Arble's courses excluded...oh, and one or two others, their names escape me)

I admit, Tim got me. Now if Tiger's withdrawal from the Masters is an April Fools joke I will lose all credibility of and from myself.

This was good but my friend just called me very proud because he had the local body shop tell his wife that the bird she hit yesterday was a bald eagle and she needed to file a police report.  She owns and animal feed store and was in tears.  She doesn't like him much anyway so no harm done.
