Rural Revolution - Article on Cabot Links
« on: March 01, 2014, 05:46:46 PM »
Good article on Cabot and how the golf course has turned around the economy and community in Cape Breton.   There are so many bad stories in golf and yet few have focused on the positive aspects of a development.  Bandon is maybe the best example of a golf course turning an entire city around and now Cabot.  Congratulations to Ben.

Congrats.

Never been up to Inverness, but I sure enjoyed Halifax and the people are so great up there!  I hope they are successful!

Thanks for sharing.  I hope to get up that way in the summer of 2015.  If I love it as much as Bandon, I could see myself returning to Cabot every 3 or 4 years.

It's a spectacular place for golf, and Ben's a hero for pursuing the dream -- for all of us East Coasters who crave a Bandon.  I've played there the last two summers, and I can't wait to return.

How on earth does Cabot Links employ 200 people in high season?

Caddies, maids, servers, staff, 7 days a week.  There were a lot of people working there last August.  Winter is a different story.

Chappers - remember it's not just the golf course - it's a 48 room hotel as well, with more accommodation coming on stream.
