#2 is genius.

Add Dennis Leary, Steven Wright and George Carlin to the list.

Steven Wright would be hilarious. I like caddies that don't get into the drama of the shot. All my caddies are dead except for Lewis Black. I like an angry caddie that would rather be anywhere else.

The real problem's are caddies who think they'd make great comedians

Are these among the voices screaming in your head?  I like your list.  I'd add in Steven Wright for the cerebral ironic context of playing a great course and pondering the best line of play to take, charm or prudence.  I would go something like this:

You:  What is my yardage to the pin?
Steven:  Depends on what route you'd like to arrive from.

You:  Which way will my putt break?
Steven:  When you reach maximum stress.

You:  Can I get home from here?
Steven:  Eventually.

You:  What is behind the green?
Steven:  The remainder of the world.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Wasn't Bill Murray ACTUALLY a caddie as a kid?

Exactly, which may explain why the best caddies I ever had were at Riviera.  I think they are trained not to audition.

I'd have to go in a different direction and list Rocky over at Pine Valley. Already a caddy and a hoot

I was just about to write the same thing.

I would also add Chevy Chase (before he became un-funny).

I once got paired with a professional comedian for a round at Malibu CC. Franklyn Ajaye was a standup and writer for Richard Pryor in the 70's and he had a great act that I had seen. For four hours the guy was hilarious. I couldnt wait for the time on the tee boxes when he was cracking the group up with his observations and stories. He was a pretty good golfer too.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Ha, ha - no it doesn't, Jeff, but even though I never met any of that 5-some, I think I can understand those guys: life can be tough, so have some drinks, lose your temper, crack some jokes, chase girls, apologize for getting angry, play some golf, try to dress nice, get to Vegas every once in a while, have some more drinks, play some golf (hopefully in Palm Springs, while dressing nice and cracking jokes), lose you temper again and then apologize, and then start the day all over again. Who else would I want to have around?
