2014 To Do List
« on: January 14, 2014, 10:03:32 PM »
The object of this thread is simple…

If you write down a goal, you are more likely to achieve it.

My 2014 To Do List:

1. Swing out west this spring to check out some Nor Cal tracks
2. Play at least one course within 30 miles of my home that I haven't played yet.
3. Get over to PA to check out that there Raynor in Pittsburg
4. Head East in the fall to check out some of the should of, would have, could have's off my list from my days in Mass.
Never let the quality of your game determine the quality of your time spent playing it.

I'm not sure if she would go slumming now that she's played 2 top 10 courses in the US and probably hasn't played 50 rounds of golf in her life.

May take my Assistants as neither have played a Raynor and need some GCA "edumacation"

You will just have to take her to Fisher's or NGLA then ;D

My 2014 To Do List:2. Play at least one course within 30 miles of my home that I haven't played yet.

How many courses within 30 miles of your home haven't you played?

I can only think of a couple within that radius where I live.

A quick search shows many many public golf courses (and a few private) that I haven't tee'd it up at yet.  Not certain if any have any Architectural merit, but that is what I want to find out.

I find myself always looking for the best course/club to play within travel distance instead of trying something new close to home that may not be considered "great".

I'm definitely making Poppy Hills a priority this year, now that the renovation is almost complete.  And I'm hopeful that I'll get to experience Harding Park this year, as well.
