From behind the 12th green at Kingsley:

matthew, you need to change the width on that one...it's a bit buxom for this site.

I believe one of you shutterbugs inadvertently included in your photo  one of the fine marshals at the Walker Cup who appears to have just left the volunteer tent where several surprisingly good breakfast burritos were consumed.  ;)

Great photos Connor! Do you mind telling a newbie what courses those are? I have my guesses, but I am very curious!

The penultimate one is Fenway, the 3rd hole, if I recall.

I managed to capture some wonderful photos throughout 2013, but I love looking at this one more than any of them.

P.S. I must apologise to Jonathan Becker for posting a photo of the same hole - 5 West at Royal Melbourne.

I don't post here very often, but I thought I'd share my favourite photo of 2013. Shot with an iPhone, so the quality isn't the best.

The hole is the short 140yd 10th hole at Kingston Heath.

Wow!  Great photo...If I had a vote you'd get extra points for shooting it on an iPhone as well!

No problem, Ben, as it's a phenomenal hole!  Most of us only get to look at 5W on our computer screens but you have the luxury of playing it at your leisure.  ;)

The 18th at Doak's Dismal River Red.

The other one I considered, from the 15th hole.

My entry. The windmill at Sand Hills with the first green in the distance.

Other favorites.

This may or may not be the HHH founder cramping up just 26 holes into training...

This photo won’t win an award nor is it from 2013, but as this topic uses photos to reflect on this past year, I post a photo of a dear friend we lost, doing what he loved doing, golfing with friends.

If that's Tiger wearing that Alabama red shirt I just have to ask, WTF?   ;D

I was asked to read a Bible reading at John's memorial service in Lafayette, and I have to say I was pretty astonished the church roof didn't fall in.  There were at least a couple hundred Tiger fans there; GCA was represented by Paul Jones, Tiger's fellow club member, and me.  It was a sad occasion but good to see all the folks who loved Tiger.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this.

For someone who's sitting in sub zero temperatures with no end to winter in site, there are many things to be jealous of in this photo...

Liphook 11th, not going to get bored of this anytime soon;

This photo really sums up why I am such a HUGE fan of Liphook.   One of the most interesting routings I've seen and a course I could happily play every day.  The heather is that deadly mix of beauty and terror.  Those bunkers are just lovely.

Jonathan Becker graced us with his presence here in Australia over January. On a warm summer morning, we played Royal Melbourne West, then ventured to Kingston Heath for the afternoon round. Becker was playing well, and even found an old rusted horse shoe in the rough while looking for a playing partner's ball on KH #1. We wondered if it was once worn by a horse at the site for digging out bunkers.

However it got there, it brought him good luck.

After a big drive on 7 (reachable par 5) Becker had 176yds to the hole. Following some discussion on line, wind, green front, and club, he let rip. After several seconds of majestic flight, the ball landed precisely where we described, and rolled smoothly into the cup. It genuinely never looked like it was going to miss. Quickly reaching for the phone, I was able to capture how a visiting American celebrates an albatross (double eagle) on the sandbelt.

"The truth about golf courses has a slightly different expression for every golfer. Which of them, one might ask, is without the most definitive convictions concerning the merits or deficiencies of the links he plays over? Freedom of criticism is one of the last privileges he is likely to forgo."
