I stayed home because the segment was so good. Bill Coore is a gentleman and I could listen to his stories all day.

This strikes me as a pretty big deal and a positive step for this group's cause célèbre. Didn't now-MD anchor Charlie Rymer ask this board for some general programming ideas a couple years ago? And here we see an entire week of the show talking about architecture. We can bemoan the fact that GCA whipping posts like Rees Jones and Tom Fazio are going to be interviewed or we can be excited that architecture is gradually receiving greater exposure to a wide golf audience. I'm on board with the latter.

Great stuff.

No Dye? Perhaps not able to travel to Orlando?

I would've just assumed that he already lives there...

I missed the Coore interview,
saw the Norman.portion........hence my earlier posts......

edit-just watched the Coore interviews-very impressive.

Incredibly refreshing humility-obviously a sense of patient evaluation and careful questioning of what is possible on a site.
quite a contrast

would be very curious to know whether viewership this week is better or worse than usual
Obviously better amongst this 1500, but on viewership as a whole.
Any way to know this?

I could spend weeks just listening to Mr. Coore.  What a great guy and role model.

Norman would be great for an hour, but his braggadocio would probably have me running for a quick getaway.  He had the audacity to claim his courses looked like they've been there for 20 years, however most all of the photos shown depicted cruddy landscape architecture that looked fake, fake, fake.

It was just a few months ago that Matt Ginella dished Ben Crenshaw as a partner at C&C.  He called his involvement something like limited.  Good to see him suck up to Bill Coore.

As Mr. Coore said, it is a "hobby" or perhaps more appropriately a passion for he and Ben Crenshaw, and that came through loud and clear.  While Greg Norman talked, he said lots of the right things about environmental sensitivity and walking the virgin sites, but it seemed clear to me his forte is marketing, not design.

I got the impression Norman felt he should get extra credit for walking the site ::)
Mr. Coore sounded like he wanted to learn more, not preach.
