I was responding to Josh's description of 'Australian golf' - We imagine hard, fast, wide, strategic and short grass. I agree that there are Australian influences at the courses you listed when compared to comparable courses overseas, but that is a different point what what Josh was talking about.

I was talking in the context of what Josh was talking about.  The courses mentioned all exhibit the qualities that Josh listed, when compared to the average American courses that I have seen.

David, I have trouble believing that when you use Kew as an example. It is narrow, overtreed, and most of the property resembles a basket of wet washing.

Chris,  a comparable American course would play softer than Kew (in summer) and have far more rough on the course.  The rough would be better irrigated and thicker.
