Great scenery, a couple nice par 5's and I like the drop shot par 3.  The par 3's (except the drop shot) are weak and yes you can't walk the course, but I'm fine with riding every now and then.  Also, their smoked wings are some of the best around.

Fully agree, played it first in 1968. Still a treat I look forward too.  Great mix of holes on a nice section of land.

Broad Run is a really strange golf course.  I've heard that the original owner put a lot of crazy demands on Rees Jones out there - this is 2nd hand info, so take it for what it's worth.

To me, Broad Run's best hole is #1 - probably not a great idea to make the best hole the first hole :)

Too hard of a hole for the start.  I agree a wonderful cart ride in the country.

LuLu has to be one of the good shouts.  Its not great, but I reckon it meets the Doak 5 criteria for me.  There are a few interesting/unusual holes backed by a core of solid golf.  Its a good walk and affordable.  Even though more tree work needs to be carried out, if LuLu was within half an hour of my house it would be my home course.  The other course I really liked is Lederach, but LuLu's walk would seal the deal for play every week.

My nomination is Manufacturers G&CC.  It's a fantastic Flynn course with an even better set of par 3's.

Better par threes??  I think they may have the best in Philly, yes three of the four are long but what nice holes. The little quarry hole, 8 I think, is a gem. I am having a hard time thinking which course has such a great lineup .
