The way I watch the pros play a course like Oak Hill is to try to imagine the course if it were under a regiment that reflects my own personal preferences for how golf courses could play.
The way they have the course(trees, grass lines, height of cuts, routing, new greens, etc.) are a reflection of others' preferences.
We can either agree or disagree with those preferences, and should be able to discuss them here as we wish.
And, as far as Oak Hills' preferences that are on display, I agree with those who find it difficult to stay interested as a viewer. I can't imagine anything adventurous or out of the ordinary happening during this Championship. Someone will struggle with the deep rough, others will have tree trouble, and no one will have a problem with an approach shot holding the green.
I struggle with the idea that this type of setup produces a great champion. What champions of any tournaments weren't great, respective of the rest of the field on that particular week? I don't understand.
