Brent,

Chambers Bay is walking only.
Gold Mountain is quite walkable, but allow cart use.
The Home Course is a little less walkable, also allows cart use.

Brent,
Chambers Bay has a caddie program. IMO the Home Course is much more walkable than Gold Mountain because it isn't built on a hillside.
If you extend to Sagebrush that is very walkable if you hop onto a cart on some green-tee transitions

Pete,
If there is room I would like to play Sagebrush, are you going up right after the King's Putter?

Richard,
Thanks again for setting this up!  I am planning on being in, if I can change my flight, or I will play my own King's Putter early.

Thanks everyone,
chris

Cliff,
It could be on either end of the KP. You're #2

Rich,

I am definitely in for the KP and thanks for your efforts.

I can also assist Pete it taking people up to Sagebrush but only after the KP as I have to work on the Friday. Sagebrush is about a 5 hour drive from the Tacoma area.

I will send a deposit once you have the numbers.

Cliff,
Sagebrush would most likely be before the King's Putter.  It looks like I may only be available for the Friday rounds

Missed this thread.  Middle of golf season when began.  Highly interested.  Looks like I have at least four problems:
1. Pretty full already
2. Middle of our golf season--don't know what will come up.
3. I'm a crappy golfer
4. Will be a year older and don't know if I'll like walking 36 a day.  Shit wears out and breaks more these days.

Did enjoy meeting some of the guys at Bandon.  This is close too.  I like to come if there's room and I'm able.

Richard,
My father and I are both able to attend and would love to be added to the "In" portion of the list. I'm not sure we'll be using the hotel package, but I should be able to get back to you on that within the next 10 days.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

I will definitely be there. Put me on the "DEFINITE" list, please Richard.

Dates are Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1 is that correct?

I'll want to do the hotel deal if a room is available.

Is this open to Newbies too.

Just joined the group this past week.
I love Chambers and would love to see what other courses up there are like.

RCurtiss,

You just have to pass a quiz on the 10th hole at Riviera and the rekationships of rough mowing to fairway bunker strategy at Merion. Piece o' cake!

Hey Brett,

Bring it on. HA HA. But I wont be able to answer the Merion question until I play it this summer!

Hey Rich,

do you have a connection at Sahalee?
That might be cool to try and play while up there.

I have updated the first post to reflect the actual dates. I will have updates on deposits and reservations early next year.

I wouldn't worry about not having space. Events like this usually have quite a few drop outs as plans get firmer. I expect we will have space for all those who want to play.

One more thing, you will not be walking 36 holes. You only have to walk at Chambers (and we have caddies). Other courses all have carts and I scheduled THC on the afternoon, just for this purpose.

I will warn you that, there is a high probability that there will be one or two temp greens due to Open preparations. I hope that will not put too much damper on things.

Richard,

Are the dates now firm enough to go ahead and buy (non-refundable) airline tickets?

At the moment my fares are quite attractive and ideally I'd like to book within the next few days. But only if we're certain of the dates, of course.

And thanks for all your preparations on this.

Perhaps you should update the first post to make it a definite instead of a proposal.

Richard,
As a new member, I do not know the protocol for this.  However, I live in Olympia, and am very much interested.  I have space for anyone interested in saving money, and may have a son who would enjoy as well.  Tell me more please.
Bill
