I like how your maintenance practices have browned out the course.

Jeff,
No inmates for this construction? Will you have to use Aggies from their turf program for labor? On a serious note, is there a contractor involved or do you put a shaper on site, maybe a back hoe person and a construction superintendent???

Randy,

No convicts for this one.  Landscapes Unlimited is doing the construction and has done a great job.  The fairways for the course will be sand capped and construction should be complete sometime in July.  Sand capping was necessary due to the fact that the only thing worse than the water in College Station is the soil.

Agronomy students will have the opportunity to intern on the maintenance crew during grow in and also when regular operations commence.  In addition, we will be building three holes for research in phase 2 of the project.

Hope all is well with you.

Jeff,

Thanks for the update.  Look forward to more as the work progresses and to seeing it in person on a football weekend in the fall.

Jeff,
How thick is the sand cap? Shaper provided by LU or were you able to persuade them to hire somebody you normally work with?
