With 1 week to go until our March 15th deadline, I will now open up for submissions. Just click on the email icon below my name and send it over.
Send me everything you have, and although I've expressed concerns I think we should try to have everyone's submissions viewable in their entirety.
I've also been thinking about how to do our first round of voting. I know I've had volunteers who've offered to help with online voting sites, but I've come up with an alternative idea that is not only more transparent, but more regulated and specialized. I will float it now, and if you guys think it will work we can use it.
Voting instructions:
Review the ~30 submissions which will be displayed without names, and pick 5 you would most like to see make it to the final round of judging. In reality we will take 8-10, but I think voters choosing their top 5 makes more sense and will give us a clearer picture.
Email me your votes. No voting for yourself, and only one vote per person. I will give you a number and tally your votes. After voting has closed I will announce the finalists and post a spreadsheet of the votes. Each person should be able to identify the ballot they cast while anonimity is preserved.
If this idea doesn't jive with anyone, let me know and we can think of an alternative. I know there are survey websites that gather data more efficiently, but for the purposes of this contest I think this would work well.
