For what it is worth, I had the great pleasure of playing both the Red and the Blue over the weekend. In a nutshell, these are "must play" courses.
Must play for many reasons, but the truly unique aspect of them is their use of minimalist/naturalist designers working on reclaimed mining sites. Mind-blowing and surreal to see a the "natrual" beauty on this type of property. And even though they are both beautiful, I think the Red is a notch above regarding this aspect.
Regarding the water issues...too much is being made of that on this website. Most water on the courses are angled and you can take it on, or not. And, as always, play the correct tees for your game. Water is not a total non-issue, but it certainly doesn't taint the enjoyment of the courses in any way, shape or form.
Both courses are in keeping with the stereoptypical mantra of the designers...fast and firm, options, interesting greens with a lot of strategy involved to play the courses "correctly". One note to this however, the maintenance of the courses are damn near ideal. The way they are kept is in perfect lock step with the design and magic of golf really seems to come to life when the design and maintenance are perfectly in sync, like they are at Streamsong.
