I have been meaning to post on here for a week or so, but have just been very tied up with things. But tonight I found myself posting something else on here and had no excuse.
A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to play my 1500th different golf course in my life. I was excited earlier this year when my friend Cory Lewis talked about playing #1000 in his life at Pine Valley, and while I tried at one point to orchestrate a "Bucket List" type course for the milestone #1500 course I was not able to make that happen. I was however able to make it happen on a wonderfully fun course in my home state of SC, Wexford down on Hilton Head Island.

My friend and playing partner that day Charles Warren on the 18th green as we finished up. A nice lady who had just finished up ahead of us offered to take our picture when we putted out and finished.
Wexford was a blast! And I was glad to share the milestone day with a good golfing friend.
I have been very fortunate, and God willing I hope my health holds up long enough, and my job continues to allow me to travel extensively enough that someday I might hit that milestone of #2000. But that may be a while because it is getting harder and harder to find a course I havent played within a couple hundred miles of where I live as I travel. I have stumbled across some great gems I would have never otherwise seen, met some interesting Mom & Pop operations playing some of the little places along the back roads in the Carolinas as I play anything I drive by that I have not previously played. Many of these rounds have been with people I have met on here, and I appreciate the great friendships I have made as well as the numerous golf courses I have seen that I otherwise wouldnt have.
As an engineer I am naturally anal enough that I was tracking places I played in a spreadsheet already and hadnt really thought I was specifically trying to play different courses to hit any milestone. In fact I couldnt tell you when or where I played #1000, I guess I was just oblivious at that point. I just liked seeing as many different courses as I could, but when I got close to 1500 I certainly started thinking about it more.
Again if I played with you along the way, thanks! If I haven't played with you yet, I am ready, willing, and hopefully still able... Bring on the next 500...
