To all those who attended today's event:

While I'm aware that a miniscule % can sully an otherwise well-behaved crowd, did you hear as much "over-the top/fans want to have an effect of the outcome of the match" as it sounded like on television?

For my tastes, there were far too many "Get in the water", "Miss it", "Go in the Bunker" and "Get out of the hole(s)" for my taste. What was it like live?

There was some GREAT golf played today.....

David,

I was at 1st, 3rd, 8th, 15th holes all day and was surprised that I did not hear a lot of obnoxiousness that you normally hear on television during play.  Which was amazing because I heard they ran out of Stella Artois....

As for unruly fans, let's face it, the real test will be Sunday afternoon if the matches are very close.  Otherwise we won't see our true colors.

I didn't observe or overhear anything untoward out there today, but I'm sure a few idiots were chirping.
Agreed. It was great out there. And no sign of Jungle Bird yet.

Anyone watching the British coverage?

Butch Harmon is pretty much openly rooting for Europe.

Also questioned the sportsmanship of having Tiger hit his third shot on #4 when he had to hole it.

Mathew,

Why wouldn't Tiger hit the shot?  Holing it was their only chance at a half.

Can someone please run out there and put a muzzle on Jacobson?  I find his commentary adds no value at all.

Colin Montgomerie.

I've heard him a little bit over the past few days commenting on all things Ryder Cup and he is BY FAR the most interesting and insightful announcer that I've heard. Dude's intelligent AND opinionated, which is better than the majority of talking heads we've been subjected to thus far, who sadly have only one part of that equation to their respective names.

Well of course.... I had no problem with it.

The British coverage thought it was "gamesmanship".

one positive is that I think Monty is actually pretty good on TV.    An analyst who is actually performing some analysis

I've always liked Monty's candor.  He's also possibly the best Ryder Cup player ever.

Looks like we'll be seeing more of mickelson/bradley.  Personally it may be time to split up Tiger/Stricker.  What about Tiger/Bubba in Fourball?

Bradley is unwatchable. He makes Christina Kim look tame. Surprised he doesn't have face paint on.

Phil must feel like he is playing with cheerleader wife Amy.

What is it with Feherty on the golf channel telecast ? - every chance he gets he brings up the troops in forward operating bases and the supposed freedom they give him to get on an American Airlines flight from DFW to ORD so he can have a job commenting on the Ryder Cup that would not be possible without the U.S. military presence in Afghantistan ?????

It's not really that cool for a Northern Irishman to be that infatuated with war and guns (as witnessed on the Feherty episode with Greg Norman)

Fortunately, NBC just treated us to the golfing wisdom of Michael Phelps, so all is not lost. Next up? Johnny Knoxville and Kim Kardashian.

That was bad.....

Am I the only one who finds Feherty unfunny?  He's so pleased with himself every time he forces a little quip in. It all seems so predictable.

Feherty has jumped the shark.  I'm very happy he's overcome his addiction, but he can stop talking about it now.  And the "costumes" he wears are just plain stupid.

Ted Harris - he gave up his Northern Ireland citizenship to become a US Citizen.

Am I the only one who thinks the coverage today has been abysmal?  There are 12 matches going on, why do I feel like I'm only watching three of them.

The lovefest for Bradley may be deserved, but this isn't solely going to come down to his match against Rory.

He is morphing into Phyllis Diller, may she rest in peace.

Have they shown Martin Kaymer or Dustin Johnson today?
