Phil,

Right or wrong, there's no way he sits Tiger.  4 par 5s in Fourball.

Oh I'm sure you're right -- but I think someone sometime just needs to sit him down, for just one match, to send the message that his game has to improve to be sent out there. Everybody out there (both sides) is in the top 35 world rankings. It's not like there aren't capable replacements for him, nor mediocre players he'd face in fourballs.

Anybody else see Justice Lavin in gallery when Tiger walked up to guy he whacked in head with drive? No oral arguments this morning your Honor?

Had a dream last night I was supposed to attend today with His Honor. Of course, like all of my golf dreams, I couldn't manage to find the course. Man are those effing annoying.

Everyone is going to have his own opinion about Tiger, but mine is I think you'd create more problems by sitting him, especially for fourball. Foursomes I could see, but I think he and Stricker are a good four ball team. As for projecting four years, I think Tiger will actually be much better then, so I still see how on the team at Hazeltine.

Second guessing captain's decisions makes about as much sense as saying what you'd do if you were playing qb in the NFL, imho.

Can he sneak off to the range in lieu of lunch?

Tough to do as he and Strick are the last match out. More likely if he'd been sent out first.

George -- for the life of me, I don't get how folks can argue world ranking or stature when assessing who to send out. The nature of this competition is such that if you're unwilling to send out hot players, and bench cold ones, you're conceding possible advantages. Tiger has looked as bad as he ever has the past two years this morning.

Wimp.....Tiger and Stricker are going out this afternoon in the last match. Neither one has been very good this morning. Sits Z. Johnson and Dufner, who won this morning.

I'm not arguing world ranking or stature, I'd simply point out that trying to ride "hot" golfers in such different competitions has about as much chance of succeeding as following world ranking or stature. It's not like we don't have examples every single competition of guys who go out in the morning and play poorly, but then recover in the afternoon.

Personally, I prefer the President's Cup format, where everyone plays. I think there is more than enough depth for everyone to play and it would make the competition more compelling, imho. It would also remove a lot of the Monday morning quarterbacking.

On the course report from #15: Great scene, stood 75 yards short of the green on the left.

Crowd exploded as Keegan drained the monster putt to close out Luke/Sergio. Soon after, the carts pulled up to usher the players back to the clubhouse. Akin to a "Ride of Shame" for the Euros.

But before hopping into his cart, Sergio tosses his ball into crowd. “Throw it back! Throw it back!” The fan did. Shades of Wrigley at Medinah.

They don't play Ryder Cup matches on Thursdays! The much criticized 15th hole seems to be doing it job - so far in spite of Tiger 'inventing' a new way to play the hole that nobody else ever thought of.

Woods hit the Captain's Club tent roof on the first hole, conked a fan – the second in as many days – on the seventh, and hit a camera near the Rolfing Sports chalet on the 15th. The U.S. won two of those holes and halved the other. Steve Stricker is Houdini.

Bubba and Simpson -- 10 birdies in 14 holes. My guess is they go out tomorrow in fourballs. :D

Sadly, and surprisingly, Eldrick's best drive today is one that was yanked left and redirected to the front part of the 15th green. Goodness, by making birdie at 15 the Stricker/Woods team just moved it down to +3 for the day.

We all took cover as if an incoming missle. Didn't even see which tree it rebounded off.

Tiger also pushed his drive way right in my direction on the 5th in the morning match.

He's gotta sit those guys tomorrow morning IMO.  Might be just what Tiger needs.

Given that 8 other US players may have scored points by the end of the day today, I think you're right. Stricker esp. needs to sit, I think. Tiger's improved this afternoon, but Colsaerts has been incredible.

At least split the team up.  This will be 4 straight losses for them.  Why not pair Tiger with one of the rookies?

Tiger looks...okay. Pretty good on 16 and 17 here!

Stricken to me looks like he's struggling and I'd sit him all day tomorrow. Pair Tiger with Dufner maybe, or back with Furyk?

Tiger/Dufner sounds like a really good pairing.  What's the course record?  Colsaerts would be close if it weren't match play.  Currently 9 under thru 17.

I was trying to refer the lad (with a Bob O'Link shirt) to a good ambulance chaser. He was woozy after taking it hard on the noggin. I was lucky enough to be inside the ropes. Otherwise it was pretty hard to see any golf.

Tiger sits!  Gotta give Davis credit,  although putting Furyk back out is a bit of a headscratcher.  If Bradley is lights out again in the morning we'll see if DL3 will stick to his vow to have noone play 5 matches.

Furyk pretty much had to play at least once tomorrow and it makes more sense to play him in foursomes.   (the other option would be tiger in foursomes)

With presumably, Phil/Keegam/Furyk sitting in the afternoon, someone has to play in the morning.  And I believe kuchar cant play twice in a day due to his ownback issues so that complicates the lineup further.

Obviously, you dont want Tiger/Dustin playing in the morning so that didnt leave that many options.

The only other option would have been to play Kuchar/Sneds in the morning and give DJ a different partner in the afternoon.

One thing i would expect though will be to have Tiger/Stricker lead off the afternoon to try to get the crowd really into it.

Most likely Watson/Simpson

Funniest thing I heard all day was when Furyk and McDowell were debating relief for McDowell on the 2nd hole of the first match of the day. When McDowell was making his case for getting relief, some guy yelled out: "Hit a better shot next time."

The same with me. Though I was mildly entertained by the three guys behind me on 15 who who would bet on each tee shot by the Euros on the short par 4. Options:

1) Goes for the green (determined by ball advancing past the tree adjacent to us located 75 yards from the green)
2) Lays up
3) Dunks it in the water

The guy who collected on Lee Westwood's waterfall celebrated like he won the lottery.

For those who want to skip the experience of remote parking and the shuttle bus...

There are plenty of welcoming neighbors/entrepreneurs on the west side of Medinah Ave who have easy in/out parking for $20. Recommend heading to Temple Drive, which is a block south of Irving Park, just north of Lake Park High School. From there, it's a quick 5 minute walk to the front gate.
