Here are some 6th holes – or that is how they are labelled. They could be wrongly labelled, of course, and we’ve seen with Rungsted that they need not be UK courses, but most will be! Where these courses have already been identified I take the misery out of it by acknowledging that.
A
The fine downhill par-three 6th at Llanymynech features a tricky, sloping green and lovely views over Shropshire. Later views will be over large expanses of mid-Wales.
B
6th green at Sunningdale Old.
C
Royal West Norfolk
D
Fulford 6th is the first of a lovely stretch of holes out in the country on the far side of the A64. Watch out for horse flies in the summer!
E
Crowborough Beacon. This is a good par three.
F
I think this is Ilkley. Could be wrong!
G
Definitely Sherwood Forest!
H
Burnham and Berrow
I
Ashburnham
J
Hunstanton, a remarkable short par-four played to a tiny green on top of a hill, usually at the mercy of the wind.
K
Southerndown.
L
Bramall Park, a good par five with OOB right, well placed drive and second shot bunkers and a difficult approach taking into account the big left to right slope in front of the green.
M
This course hasn’t yet featured.
N
Romiley, the lovely approach shot to the 6th green
O
And the exciting tee shot on Romiley’s 7th.
P
Wirral Ladies
Q
Burnham and Berrow
R
Not sure but it could be Wirral Ladies’ 7th.
