Where is Vinnie Kmetz?
« on: August 09, 2012, 05:28:05 PM »
Gee, I hope he didn't pack up his GCA account with TEP!  Those two were going to work on a project which sounded interesting.  I hope both are looking into the threads here and get motivated to rejoin and contribute more to our teatime chats!

I am Vinnie Kmetz.

Vinnie is a full member with 339 posts. Maybe he has been busy playing golf with TEP as his caddy.

Gents,
sorry to be such a lurker these days. You know I check in here every day in life, but too often there's nothing I'm either interested in or suitably qualified about to discuss with much sincerity, passion or knowledge. So, I resort to sophomoric attempts at humour, pathetic reminiscences of past glory and downright stupid movie, music and literary references.

A friend alerted me to this thread topic yesterday and I had a sliver of time to say:

1. With Masters ending, necessary revision, presentation in the summer all dovetailing with my need to get caddying full bore I abandoned most pleasures, such as the board.

2.  I was lucky enough to get an adjunct professors post at a community college while caddying still had 45 days of life left in the season

3.  I was lucky enough to secure a small contract to write a club history for one of the clubs for whom I have enjoyed a long work-caddying relationship, when looping ended that took up that half of the time.

4.  Unfortunately, my communiques with TEP also stagnated in early May as I found only 25 hours in the day.  Once I put the Club History to substantial completion I may be able to resume a forum with him on some of the germane issues of economy, club sets and GCA that we had hoped to explore.

I hope that my many correspondents, well-wishers, and "combatants" do not feel abandoned or attribute my absence to a lack of sustained interest in the milieu - I'm just too poor and too hectored by economy to devote the time to a meaningful post.  But I suspect everyone slept well in the nights since (except perhaps Election Night).

I am Vinnie Kmetz

hope to rejoin meaningfully later in the winter

cheers
