There was recent thread where his name came up and it seemed like a few of you knew him.
I first heard about him in an extract from a Rotella book and wondered if it was all true.
Well thanks the Youtube I can see some of it for myself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL7nXo61lp0MMM I remember Rotella saying he ‘handed’ Snead his ball after the stymie, not how it seems on film.
And Rotella has the distances all wrong; surely Snead’s ball is within 13” of the Cup, didn’t’ that change things?
And Rotella has him being out hit by 70 yards!!!!!!
How did he hit so many fairways with a swing that moved all over the place?
And next time someone yelling “getindahole” is cited as an example of the fall of modern civilisation, show them those kids fighting for the ball when the match is over.
Here’s a longer film
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLhq9waT5ZkNow he’s being outhit by 100 yards!
Anyway I’ve long been curious. Should I search out The Short Way to Lower Scoring ?
The reality maybe better than the legend.
Would love to know more.
