Part of the success of the Confidential Guide is that it has some unabashed views of golf courses.   

Can anyone suggest other places (non GCA threads) where I might find particularly 'honest' course reviews?

You won't find too many.  Nobody wants to burn any bridges in the world we live in today.

I'm glad that I wrote the book when I didn't know any better.  Overall, the positives vastly outweighed the negatives.
