JC-I'm not a native, but a friend's parents have a house there. It's a really, really nice community. Golf course, played it once in May of 2007, I can remember some holes in my mind, weaving back and forth around parts of the lake.
Mostly a parkland design, with clean features, it didn't strike me as a threatening sort of course. I seem to remember thinking it was a good course for what it was, a course in a residential community were folks could play and not have their a** handed to them. The holes on the lake were scenic and offered some risk/reward with a way around the trouble.
In other words, it's exactly the right type of golf course for this sort of market. I don't think this was meant to be a 'player's' course, I think this was meant to be a course for an upscale development of professionals and retirees. This is not meant as a diss.
Overall, it seemed like a really, really nice community in which to live. I'm not sure the motivation behind Trump buying it, it didn't seem like a place that needed a whole lot of work or help, but this was 5 yrs ago I was there.
