Angela,I was born in Wurzburg and had dual US WGerman citizenship until age 21,which was unfortunately 30 years ago!Always glad to find people who can read my birth certificate.Welcome.

Ich weiss nicht. :) There is a very nice poster who now lives in Australia who I think is from Germany. Perhaps he'll see this and respond. Also, there are several threads that have links to people's biographical info, I'll try to find one and send you the link.

Tony Ristola is a terrific guy, terrific poster. He tends to post in bunches (probably between projects or something like that).

Angela,

Welcome to the site that never sleeps! It's good to know there are women interested in the creation and design side of golf. While you are certainly a pioneer in a select group, if you follow your dreams with passion and hone your talents...you will be rewarded.
Having the wonderful oportunity to work with Tom's team has given you a superb addition to your education. All the best as you continue to learn and develop you own insights!

Your thesis comments were of particular interest to me, as our tree care company does a fair bit of work on golf course properties and we appreciate getting the thoughts of the folks that design and create the layouts we work on.

I'll IM you, and as someone of German ancestry, that is one country that is high on my list to visit and experince the golf and culture there. Your advice would be welcomed!

Angela, Ulrich Mahyring is a regular at the GCA Buda Cup matches played in the UK every year.  He drives over in his Smart car!  I am not sure where in Germany he's from.

My only golf experience in Germany was at a private club outside Dusselfdorf in 1994.   There didn't seem to be much of a golf culture at that time.

Willkommen Angela!  I remember traveling through your hometown on my way from Munich to Stuttgart a couple of years ago.  I was quite sad to leave Bavaria and hope to make it back there soon.  Enjoy GCA!
