Joe, we have a decent amount of historical data....but I missed something with the 9th hole as pictured in 1956 . We also have talked about the time frames for completion of the golf course, which appears to be later than the 1923 that had long been reported. 1925 might be right , but it could be as late as 1927! Talks with Joe and Mike C have narrowed the debate, but have not totally solved that mystery!
M. Sweeney you'll have to join us soon , we are getting lots of winter golf ! We have lots of stories and pictures of the old clubhouse as you suspected. I never saw it in person, but it looks rough and tumble (perfect) in the old photos . It sat on a hill left of our existing 17 green, was kind of rickety. Definely old school.
George Faziio , with nephew Tom on the crew, did lots of work for Gene Gatti when he first purchased the club.much later Ron Garl built new holes (now 11 & 12 ) and built a range to facilitate the LPGA Shop Rite tournament. Gene Gatti loved trees, and planted them all over the course . We did a lot of tinkering after the 1998 purchase, but lots of Park Jr still shines thru .
