is it really a "national championship" if the team that wins has already lost to the team they beat??? can it really be a true "national championship" if the two teams playing for it are from the same conference??? bcs is a farce...
Are you suggesting that a team ranked #2 who ties (in regulation then loses by a field goal in OT) the team ranked #1 shouldn't be #2 still?
You can bet LSU wishes your thinking was correct so they wouldn't have had to play another SEC team for the championship and could've lit up the scoreboard
a bit ironic that Alabama won the National Champonship, but not the SEC, but this is one of the rare instances where the BCS was better than a playoff as clearly the top 2 teams were in the SEC.
Of course in a proper playoff that could happen as well as long as they didn't do something stupid like say you had to win your conference.
Need proof? How many of the last 10 national Champions are SEC teams?(despite beating up on each other all year)
Ironically they usually play the National Championship in early Dec, in Atlanta, but this year Georgia didn't belong in that equation, or even for consideration for a conference title..
Interestingly, if the SEC divisions were different and Alabama met LSU for the conference title, they wouldn't have met in the National game
I'm all for a playoff.
Lsu vs. Arkansas
Alabama vs.South Carolina(Sorry Georgia but the ONLY nonconference loss amongst the 5 teams eliminates you)
They could have an NIT for the rest
